Zhuang brocade, a traditional handwoven brocade of the Zhuang ethnic group in Guangxi, China, is one of the Zhuang people's most distinctive cultural symbols. Its distinctive features include: first, its patterns are ethnic, often featuring phoenixes, butterflies, flowers, and birds, as well as auspicious geometric motifs. The colors are bold and vibrant, with the contrast of red, yellow, and blue creating a striking effect. Second, its craftsmanship is unique: a cotton base is woven with colored silk threads to create three-dimensional patterns, creating a distinctly embossed texture. These patterns can be used as clothing, backpacks, or as tapestries for home decoration. Representing the history and craftsmanship of the Zhuang people, they are often given as gifts to friends and even foreign guests, conveying a heartfelt message of their national heritage. For the Zhuang people, Zhuang brocade is more than just a piece of cloth. Traditionally, women would personally weave Zhuang brocade as dowries when they married. It is now a national intangible cultural heritage, with the craft of Zhuang brocade inscribed on the first batch of the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.
